As we begin the last month of this year, take time. Remember what this season is all about. Think of ways to enrich this season for your family and friends. Most of the gifts I'm giving this year, as in years past, will be handmade. So I'll be busy finishing those projects. I'll share a few along the way. Enjoy December! The season of giving. Remember what we have been given and rejoice in it.

Slowing Down the Crazyness
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I did. This time of year SOOOOO much is happening. We want to think of others. Help others have a better holiday season. Especially connect with family and have more meaningful times with your immediate family. In achieving this, things can get a little crazy. There are a few things that I usually do that I will be cutting back on, such as blogging. So....I will be here off and on, as it seems to have been going lately. I'm always so happy to get back to visit. I miss the humor, inspiration, and cleverness of all of you.
We had a lovely time Thanksgiving day, hosting 25 people. Here we are getting ready to fill our plates. We brought in four tables from other rooms and lined them up through the dining room and into the living room.
When we are all stuffed, we clear everything, and play games. It's a good time to have fun together and talk about what is happening in each others lives. It seem like no matter how much we talk, there is always more to say.
Later, the pies and other desserts come out. There is so much, I always take some to friends later and share the bounty.

New Month, New Page
In my mind, June is awash with delicate, clear sun, and the new summer flowers. The beginning of summer. The lavender is bursting with color and fragrance. The sun flowers grow strong and tall , their many sized flowers dancing in the light breeze. Near the end of the month, the raspberries give up their juicy, luscious fruit. The growth of each plant, the aromas in the air, give one a heady feeling when walking in the garden. This calender page was created with paint and floss. The original page has dimension not seen in the scan. Enjoy!

A New Page

A new month! Bright. Trees bursting in blossoms and leaves. A little breezy, bringing in the sunshine, blowing clouds away. Flowers shyly showing their faces, then more boldly showing their bright splashes of color. May is a month when I'm finishing up inside projects, and trying to find more time to be outside. I feel like I'm coming out of my cocoon, and want to flit from plant, to plant. Or maybe sit in front of the outdoor fireplace after a satisfying day working in the sun.
This page of the calender is painted with acrylic and metallic paint, then using pearlized cotton embroidery floss, I stitched leaves and French knots.
May is the time I really feel the season change. March and April are teasers, especially this year. I love them, and look forward to those months, but May is it.
Tomorrow, I'll show you the lilacs .........mmmmm!

Welcome April
Today I turned to a new calender page. This is one of my favorites. These are calender pages that I created for my family. Each person received a calender with an original cover. They have every ones birthday, and anniversaries. I showed you January, February, oops, I never showed you February.... .... I know why, it's my least favorite, .....here it is.
and March. Now April. I'm looking forward to showing you another one next month. Has anyone had some good April fools jokes today?

A New Calender Page
Aah! A new month! Already???Sometimes it takes me a couple of days to remember that I need to change the calender page.
Life isn't really going that fast is it? Oh well, here we are, already the 4th. I like March. Here in the Northwest, it's not so lionish. It's rather wet, but we have those dry moments when we can run outside and play or garden. All the plants are coming to life. The bright spots of crocus, now the daffodils, the violets in the grass are sweet, the buds on the trees getting fat and ready to burst out. Spring life is exploding, being released from it's sleep of winter.
